Consistently Enough

Rev 1:8 “I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, “who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty.”

Galatians 6:9 Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.

Just like the seasons, things in my life seem to come on strong and leave in the blink of an eye. The latest fitness craze is usually the ‘season’ that I am in. The last three years I have been ALL-IN on the following things: CrossFit, Olympic lifting, running, Pilates, yoga, Cross Training, strictly cardio, only eating organically and taking 20+/- vitamins a day,  literally doing nothing fitness or nutrition wise, realizing I need to start again. Then repeat. Then repeat again. I feel like my life, in almost all areas, has been characterized by cycles such as this. I am all-in and one day, just as quickly as it started, I am all out. Hot then cold. Not purposely do I do this, it just kind of happens. When someone asks me about a hobby of mine, up until about a week ago I would say “Yes I really like ‘such-and-such’ but you know me, I am such an all or none person!” and I meant it. I know our words have power but this was one of those things that I didn’t even realize I said… much less that I said it a lot. Accountability Partners for Life

Proverbs 27:17 As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.

In several places scripture talks about how human beings are called to keep each other sharp, ready, on their toes and at their best. So how do we continuously sharpen each other? I wondered this for a long time until it recently hit me, to keep each other ‘sharp’ is to keep each other accountable. Accountability is when someone holds you responsible for the words you speak and the actions you perform, and accountability is a huge part of fellowship with each other and of our walk with God. I always say I want to be more Christ-like every day, and I want to live a life that defines being Christ-like. This type of life (to me) represents a sum of moments all throughout my life where I made the conscious decision to humble myself, be kind, gentle, and most of all loving to other people, no matter how they acted. Because I am a fallible human, I will stumble occasionally with my words and actions but the more I grow in Christ, the less frequent these slip ups will occur. In my walk with God, accountability is key. Read more…

Choose Joy

Philippians 4:4 Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice!

God has provided us a life, a life that is supposed to be abundant in every way. Sometimes, because we do live in this world, we will face situations that we do not always think are good. We are always having to combat against situations like these and speak The Word because God’s Word is truth! This being said, sometimes it is kind of really hard to choose joy.

John 15:11 “These things I have spoken to you, that My joy may remain in you, and that your joy may be full.
