Consistently Enough

Rev 1:8 “I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, “who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty.”

Galatians 6:9 Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.

Just like the seasons, things in my life seem to come on strong and leave in the blink of an eye. The latest fitness craze is usually the ‘season’ that I am in. The last three years I have been ALL-IN on the following things: CrossFit, Olympic lifting, running, Pilates, yoga, Cross Training, strictly cardio, only eating organically and taking 20+/- vitamins a day,  literally doing nothing fitness or nutrition wise, realizing I need to start again. Then repeat. Then repeat again. I feel like my life, in almost all areas, has been characterized by cycles such as this. I am all-in and one day, just as quickly as it started, I am all out. Hot then cold. Not purposely do I do this, it just kind of happens. When someone asks me about a hobby of mine, up until about a week ago I would say “Yes I really like ‘such-and-such’ but you know me, I am such an all or none person!” and I meant it. I know our words have power but this was one of those things that I didn’t even realize I said… much less that I said it a lot. So, my life followed my words and for months I was all-in with God and then like the flip of a light switch, I stopped. For no reason, just stopped. Read more…

Olympic Level Dedication in 2014

With the upcoming Winter Olympics and the New Year of 2014 upon us, this is a great time for reflection. A few days ago in my own reflection, I posed a question. What if we had an Olympian-level of dedication to God and to The Bible? What if all year long we trained and studied hours on hours a day, every spare moment filling our time with The Word and we talked to God when we needed a friend and a confidant? Aren’t we all training for something…to sit at the foot of the throne of the Father and the Son in Heaven after this world has passed away? Isn’t that our Olympics? When all of our ‘training’ is over, we will walk alongside God on the streets of gold, basking in His light, all of us then earning our own gold medal.

Joshua 1:7-8 Don’t get off track, either left or right, so as to make sure you get to where you’re going. And don’t for a minute let this Book of The Revelation be out of mind. Ponder and meditate on it day and night, making sure you practice everything written in it. Then you’ll get where you’re going; then you’ll succeed. Haven’t I commanded you? Strength! Courage! Don’t be timid; don’t get discouraged. God, your God, is with you every step you take.” The Message

Lots and lots of New Year’s resolutions involve all things fitness, but this is my challenge to you: This year strive to be so Theologically fit, people look at you and wonder what you are training for. Get to know God so well, that you are His Yes Girl, and you know His voice immediately when He speaks to you. Let The Word be so ingrained in you that stop leaning to your own understanding and trust Him with everything that you have. Fill your ears with Godly things, fill your mind with The Words of truth, and let your mouth be used for good, speaking things that are true, noble, reputable, authentic, compelling, gracious, the best not the worst, the beautiful not the ugly, things to praise, not to curse. To achieve an Olympic level mind theologically, you have to go all out in your love for God and your yearning for more and more of Him. I know that I have my salvation and if I die, I am going to Heaven but I want to be an Olympic medalist in my salvation–I want to constantly walk in it and have all that salvation is. Salvation is all that The Word says it is. I ask in Jesus’ name that I and every one of you reading this are filled every single day with an unsatisfied craving to know God more and more, and to read the Bible and receive fresh revelation each time our eyes scan a page. I believe that in this year many mighty men and women of God will rise up because the truth of The Word will set them free.

Matthew 18-20 Jesus, undeterred, went right ahead and gave his charge: “God authorized and commanded me to commission you: Go out and train everyone you meet, far and near, in this way of life, marking them by baptism in the threefold name: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Then instruct them in the practice of all I have commanded you. I’ll be with you as you do this, day after day after day, right up to the end of the age.” The MessageIMG_2001

His word is truth. We are so Greatly Blessed, Highly Favored, and Deeply Loved.
