Our Walk with God in Blog Form

Ask.Believe.Receive (a testimony)

As the day of my wedding draws closer and closer I have had to constantly remind myself to trust that God is there to help me deal with all of the stresses and frustrations. And I have to also remind myself to put all my worries and concerns in his hands. I know I can trust him fully because he delivers!!!!

At the beginning of 2014 I had been relying upon the expectation that I would get a bonus check from my job so that I would be able to pay for a few things for the wedding. The first of the year rolled around and they announced that we would not be getting bonus checks this year and my heart just broke a little. I won’t lie to you, I spent the majority of that day pouting, worrying, and just in a plain foul mood. After a while I called my fiancé and told him the news. He told me that everything would work out and to just pray about it. So I took his advice, and that is what I did, I prayed about it and put all my issues in God’s hands. Immediately my heart and my mood were lighter.

The main thing that I had planned to pay with that money was a photographer. I believe that having a photographer at a wedding is pretty important, so I was very disappointed that I wouldn’t be able to afford one, but I continued to pray and trust in Him. A few days later my future mother-in-law called me and told me that a good friend of hers had offered to do the photography for free! The Lord delivers when you trust in Him!!!

At the beginning of our engagement, just over a year ago, I had had my heart set on peonies. However, upon seeing the price of them I decided to settle for a more affordable flower. So I decided on babies breath. I saw many weddings on Pinterest and other sites where they used nothing but babies breath and I thought the idea was really cute. I figured I could settle for something like that as opposed to my peonies.

Well, earlier this week I finally had the money for my small flower budget in hand. So I decided to search around town and see who had the best deals on babies breath. I typed “wholesale flowers in San Antonio” into the search engine and the first link that came up was for an online store called 50 flowers. I already knew that this wasn’t a local store or shop, but I clicked on the link anyways.

When their page opened up the first thing I saw was peonies; and I could get the perfect amount of them within my budget (and even with some money to spare)!!! I was so excited I just exclaimed, “Oh, thank you, Jesus!!!” I then called my fiancé and the other people who are helping with the wedding décor (as we are doing most everything DIY) to make sure that they agreed with me that the peonies would still go with the rest of the décor. Long story short, I ordered the peonies and I am so excited and blessed that my wedding flowers will be the original flowers that I had dreamed of.

In the grand scheme of things these testimonies of mine may not seem like big, life changing events that the Lord has blessed me with, but they are BIG blessings in my book!!!! This wedding and the planning of it all has been a big part of my world for the past year, and there are so many blessings that God has delivered through it all. Many times in life we have to remember to thank God for the little things that happen in our day to day lives, not just the big things. I know as long as I put all my trust in Him and hold his hand along the way My God will deliver everything that I need! So that is what I have to constantly do (and remind myself to do) as the days to the wedding countdown. And, of course, in all the days to follow!!!

 believe and you shall receive!

And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:19

Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change. James 1:17

The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face to shine upon you and be gracious to you; the Lord lift up his countenance upon you and give you peace. Numbers 6:24-26

And from his fullness we have all received, grace upon grace. John 1:16

But by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace toward me was not in vain. On the contrary, I worked harder than any of them, though it was not I, but the grace of God that is with me. 1 Corinthians 15:10

Yes, the Lord will give what is good, and our land will yield its increase. Psalm 85:12

  4. wow…this is a February entry (and am just reading it in March)which i obviously missed reading back then for a good reason. and today morning when i opened my email for notification i randomly clicked on the link to blog and wow.. am super blessed … am going to keep believing that God will deliver me .
somehow Just like you, at the beginning of 2014 i was having some many accumulated bills and was counting on getting a salary loan to clear them all up , so i did apply for the loan early February but somehow the bank would keep telling me the system is rejecting the application but we are re-submitting so be patient and i have been patient…so, yesterday exactly one month after my first initial application the bank tells me the money allocated to my company is used up so they aren’t able to give me a loan .. i was definitely disappointed and cried my way in a taxi home but this Hill song song desert kept ringing in my head and i just told God, you know i have deadlines to clear up this bills (they have actually passed) so, am trusting you to see me through this season. there and then i felt peace and calmness in my spirit.

reading your testimony has encouraged to not loose hope and start grumbling and complaining and asking WHY me WHY now BUT to rest in God’s sure promise of deliverance and provision and leave Him to take care of everything .

thank you so much for sharing your story.

I am blessed and God be with you every step of your weddings preps and marriage
